Baby Janecek: 36 Week Pregnancy Update and Showers #2 and #3

I have to start by saying I have been a poor blogger lately.  I have two showers to post pictures from and havent done that so this will be a tripple wammy.  Showers #2 and #3 along with a 36 week update.

Shower #2 was thrown by my sister for my side of the family.  It was a beautiful shower and I got lots of great gifts for Baby J.  The food was delish and it was so nice to spend time with my family and get to see everyone!  She did a mason jar theme and did everything very rustic.  It was adorable! I will attach pictures of some of the little touches she did to make it so cute!

Cant wait to actually welcome this little girl :)
The food set up...so cute!
Adorable table set-up
Cupcakes by Crystle...So cute and taste even better!!!
Centerpieces
I love handmade gifts and talented people :)
A friend of ours that works with Dad came and brought this blanket and rattle...how special we will get something to remember our nickname for Baby J for years to come!
The cute party favors! (Sugar, spice & everything nice. Thats what little girls are made of)
Shower #3 was also thrown by my sister and one of my girlfriends Taryn Collins for my close friends and co-workers.  It was held at my house for brunch a couple of weeks ago.  So much fun to share my home and Baby J's nursery with some of my close friends and co-workers.  We had tons of Kalona doughnuts (thank god that bakery is almost a half hour from my house or Id probably have gained tons of weight this pregnancy, those rolls were AWESOME!!!) fresh fruit, and egg bakes made by my mother-in-law.  The food was really a big hit and the leftovers were even better :)  I got some sweet gifts and Baby girl got some neat outfits and accessories.  That poor girls head is never going to be bare with all of the head accessories shes got! I love them all and cant wait to dec her out in all of the girly things she has in her closet!
So many doughnuts!

Special thanks again to Ashley and Taryn for the showers they were alot of fun!

Ok now for a Pregnancy Update:

36 weeks

How Far Along: 36 weeks

Gender: Girl :)

Baby is the size of: A head of romane lettuce (Weird description they give this week)

Symptoms: Still having heartburn and still not getting much sleep. Weird new symptom: Ive been feeling like my hips are no longer connected. Just uncomfortable when I walk and really makes me do the waddle.

Sleep: Sleep is best in the recliner I find!

Movement: Very active!! I feel almost every move she makes!

Food cravings: Cereal is still a staple for me but also loving strawberries lately. We have went through several containers in the last week!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just Taco Bell-PUKE!

Miss anything: I would usually say no, but yesterday I went to Subway for lunch (veggie sub is also a pretty good craving these days) and the guy behind me got a tuna sub….My mouth watered so much I thought I was going to start drooling. I am probably going to get Mercury poisoning from all of the tuna I will want to consume when I’m done being pregnant lol.

Belly button in or out: In

Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity pants, and a little of both when it comes to shirts.

Wedding ring on or off: Back off again…It is still way too big but that rubber piece kept slipping off and it was making me nervous I was going to lose my wedding ring. So back off it came and I will just have to get it re-sized after baby is born and I get back to a normal state again. For now I am wearing my Lindy Star ring my dad gave me in high school.

Labor signs: Nope

Strangest Moment of the Week: Baby J has been having hiccups. Such a weird feeling, yet so fun to watch. Kyle and I sat on the couch one night last week and watched my stomach rhythmically jump with her hiccups. Poor thing...I hate the hiccups!!!

Fun moment this past week: We have spent the last few weeks getting a few more of Kyle’s “Honey Do’s” done before baby. It has been so nice to get all of these things crossed off our list so we are ready to just enjoy Baby J when she decides to arrive. This last weekend we finally got our upstairs bathroom converted from tub to shower and got all of the plumbing done up there. So nice to have that bathroom functioning again and will come in very handy when baby arrives and I need some “me time” and a nice warm bath! I also had a weekly appointment with my doctor last week and things are starting to move along, I was dilated to 1 and 50% effaced. She seemed very pleased with that and was glad to know my body knows what it’s going to be doing here soon!

What I am looking forward to this week: Christmas!! We have the next couple of weekends jam packed with Christmas celebrations and I am excited for all of the good food and time with family. Christmas will be so much more fun for us in the next few years but I am still pretty excited to just relax this year and spend time with family.

I have to include a picture of my cousin Jami’s adorable little girl Bristol Kaye. She is an absolute doll and cannot wait for her to meet Baby J.

She is such a doll and love her in the outfit Kyle and I got her :)

Thanks for reading and I hope to do a few more posts before Baby J makes her arrival.  I need to do a peek into her nursery for sure so hopefully I find time in the next few weeks :) Take care, Jessica.

Baby Janecek: 33 Week Pregnancy Update

33 Weeks :)
How Far Along: 33 weeks

Gender: Girl :)

Baby is the size of: A pineapple

Symptoms: Sleep is not my friend lately, been very hard to get comfortable and heartburn has unfortunately been a friend whether I wanted it or not… but I really can’t complain, it’s totally worth it!!!

Sleep: Sleep is best in the recliner I find!

Movement: Very active!! I feel almost every move she makes!

Food cravings: Cereal, I could eat it every meal!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just Taco Bell-PUKE!

Miss anything: Nope

Belly button in or out: In

Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity pants, and a little of both when it comes to shirts.

Wedding ring on or off: On!!! But only with this neat little rubber device I found that attaches to the back of my ring so it fits snug!

Labor signs: Nope

Strangest Moment of the Week: My bump must be starting to get a lot more noticeable; people have definitely started asking me questions about being pregnant in public now. I lost so much weight at the beginning it took me a while to really pop!

Fun moment this past week: We have had a lot of good times over the past few weeks just preparing our home for a newborn. I have had 2 showers now (Ill blog the 2nd one here soon) and I have my final one this weekend, so we have been putting together some of the awesome gifts we’ve received and been putting the finishing touches on the nursery. We have also had to do some home improvement things to make life easier as we bring baby home. Our kitchen sink had an OLD SCHOOL faucet, that suited me just fine, however with bathing a baby in the sink we knew it wasn’t going to cut it, so we replaced that and have also been doing some smoke detector replacing. Kyle has been getting pretty good at completing my “honey do” list.

What I am looking forward to this week: FOOD!!! I think Baby J is going through a growth spurt, because I finally feel like I have an appetite! I haven’t really had much of an appetite this entire pregnancy, but lately I feel like I could eat all day. Don’t worry; I haven’t (for my own sake)!!! I am also looking forward to my last shower this weekend. Can’t wait to see some of my girlfriends and have a good time celebrating Baby J. And how could I forget…SUPER excited and on baby watch for my cousin Jami who could be having Baby K any day now!!!

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and enjoys the long weekend!!!

Swing Completed!

Baby Shower #1

This past weekend was my first baby shower to help celebrate BABY J!!! The shower was for Kyle's side of the family and was thrown by his cousins.  They did an owl theme and it was absolutely adorable!  There are some pretty creative women in that family, so lucky to be a part of it!  The decor was beautiful and the yummy treats were great! Thanks girls I really appreciate it, and Baby J does not even know how spoiled she already is :) Ill attach some pics of the decor and a few of the hand made gifts that were too crafty not to share :)

The cute little owl cookies-the were cute and DELISH!!! Great frosting!

Diaper Cake- Love the chevron :) And there were some pretty adorable owl socks on top as well as some other goodies :)

Baby J's favorite onsie ;)

The beginning of some really neat handmade gifts! I truely love crafty people :)

Beautiful!

So cute, and reminds me alot of blankets we had as kids!

Loving some of the decor and goodies :)

Adorable bow-quet and burp cloth cupcakes..ALL handmade and so cute!!!

Close up of the bow-quet.  They are all so cute and went straight to the hair accessorie board I have started in Baby J's room :)
I had a great time at the shower and had so much fun spending time with Kyle's family and their little ones! They really know how to give a shower.  Thanks to everyone who planned and helped and made the day so special for me and gave the beautiful gifts for baby J:)

Baby Janecek: 29 Week Pregnancy Update

29 weeks :)

3rd trimester already, time is flying!!!

How Far Along: 29 weeks

Gender: Girl :)

Baby is the size of: A butternut squash (about 15 inches long from head to heel)

Symptoms: Still a bit sleepy and the heartburn isn’t too fun, but overall feeling great!

Sleep: Sleep is good when Im not up going on a potty run!

Movement: Very active, seems to be most active around lunch time, after supper, and then about 3 or 4 am!

Food cravings: Green olive pizza

Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just Taco Bell-PUKE!

Miss anything: Nope

Belly button in or out: In

Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity pants, and a little of both when it comes to shirts.

Wedding ring on or off: On!!! But only with this neat little rubber device I found that attaches to the back of my ring so it fits snug!

Labor signs: Nope

Strangest Moment of the Week: Nothing really too strange happening lately! I am really feeling pretty darn good an baby seems to be quite active these days so it’s really fun just to relax at night and watch and feel her move around!

Fun moment this past week: The past few weeks we have been taking Lamaze classes and it has been so interesting. I’m not going to lie the first night I left in tears, terrified of what’s to come... but our teacher has done such a great job informing us of all that will take place and all of the comfort measures they take at the hospital to try and make it as smooth as possible. I’m sure I will probably be scared when the day comes but my excitement to hold this little girl in my arms will make it all worthwhile! Kyle’s reaction to some of the things we discuss in class is priceless; his perspective on things is so funny. I’m so thankful to have him by my side through this journey, I couldn’t ask for a better partner!

What I am looking forward to this week: Baby showers start this weekend! Super excited to spend time with family and friends and celebrate Baby J. I have a few different showers so I will try and do a blog post on each one to share some of the highlights! I also have a baby appointment tomorrow and I now start going every 2 weeks, so things are just scooting right along! Still in shock how fast this pregnancy has gone!

Thanks for checking in and take care, Jess

Baby Janecek: 25 Week Pregnancy Update

25 weeks today!

How Far Along: 25 weeks

Gender: Girl :)

Baby is the size of: A rutabaga (About 13 1/2 inches long

Symptoms: Sleepy and I can really tell when Ive overdone it, my back has started to let me know!

Sleep: Pretty sure my days of good peaceful sleep are over probably until Baby J is like 30...lol! I am getting up mutliple times in the night now. I either have to go to the bathroom or cant get comfortable or baby girl is moving and keeping me up (which I dont mind..I love feeling her move).

Strangest Moment of the Week: Today! We had another ultrasound today, love seeing our little peanut in there! But while the ultrasound tech was performing it, I felt a strong movement from baby girl and not only did I feel it but we wathed the movement on the screen and the ultrasound tech felt it through her wand too!! So neat! Baby girl was measuring right on track however.  I am 25 weeks today and she was measuring 25w1d.  Her heartbeat was 136 and she was 1 lb. 11 oz. So she is doing just fine and growing like a weed in there!

Fun moment this past week: We registered..well I should say partially registered. My mother-in-law Jane and I got all registered at Babies R Us. Now we just have to make time here SOON to get to Target and register there as well. Babies R Us is AWESOME!!! Its like a little baby paradise! So many things and so many choices! We purchased the crib and got that all situated nicely in the nursery. Things are really starting to come togethor, which is exciting and a bit nerve wrecking at the same time. I feel like this pregnancy has FLOWN BY and baby will be here before we know it!!!

What I am looking forward to this week: We start Lamaze classes tonight! It should be fun and very interesting for me and I cannot wait to see some of Kyle's reactions to some of the things well be learning and doing in class! I think it will be very good for us though! I am also excited to finish decorating the nursery...I have alot of things for the room I just need to get them on the walls and start giving her clothes a home. Speaking of clothes...shes not even born yet and she already has a much better wardrobe than me. She is one very loved little lady! Cant wait for January to see her in some of these adorable outfits!

Look at that cute little face :)

She had her mouth open alot and kept sticking her tounge out.

A bottom view of her foot (sideways).  If you look close her first toe and second have quite a gap between them...JUST LIKE MOM!

One of my very best friends, Maquel and I at a wedding this past weekend!

Baby J Is A...

Baby J is a … GIRL!!!

Our WHOO themed party cake was PINK!!!

This post is incredibly late!!! After all of the exitement of finding out we are having a girl this momma to be has been busy shopping and planning for my little girl's nursery and totally forgot about blogging.  So about 3 1/2 weeks ago now, we had our big Gender Reveal Party. It was an absolute blast!!! Just a small bunch at our house, family and a few friends but OH SO FUN!!!! We had people betting all night long which made it even more fun. The party started with supper then we had some games and then finally we had the big reveal!! Nothing like holding the suspense all night lol.
I think this picture pretty much sums up how I was feeling in that moment...SO EXCITED!!!

Very excited parents-to-be!!!

A little collage I put togethor of the night.  Left to right top to bottom:
Mommy and Daddy-To-Be
Our Awesome cake and cupcakes
Pink
Pink VS Blue Punch
Our little owl family
Old Wives Tales chalk board for the games
Close up of the cake
Close up of the awesome tree
Picture of the most recent sonogram

Another collage of our excitement!!!

Super excited to know wer are going to be parents to a little girl!! She will be the first Janecek girl born in Kyles direct line in a few generations, so we were both SHOCKED to see pink, but SUPER EXCITED!!! Now Mommy can start shopping and Daddy can start coming up with his rules for his little girl.  First thing Kyle said to me after he found out it was a girl was that he needed to call on of his friends from work who had an "Application for Dating My Daughter."  Only Kyle, but so sweet to see how shes already got him wrapped around her finger!
That night was great and there were so many good times and even a few tears as everyone watched with anticipation.  Thanks to all of our friends and family who have helped form us into who we are today and who we know will help us do the same for our little girl! Hope all is well!

Baby Janecek: 20 Week Pregnancy Update (HALF WAY THERE!!)

Hello welcome to the half way mark of my pregnancy! Cant believe its already half over! I wasnt going to post a 20 week update but thought with the big Gender Reveal coming up I had better share some of the other things that have been going on because Im sure during the next post I will just go on and on about pink or blue lol.  We have been doing great, except for this awful heat! I am so ready for fall and these 100 degree days arent giving me much hope of it happening anytime soon.  Pray for a cool down!  Hope all is well!

20 weeks

How Far Along: 20 weeks (HALF WAY THERE!!!)

Gender: Find out this weekend!!!!!

Baby is the size of: Banana

Symptoms: Sleepy most of the time.

Sleep: Cant seem to get enough!!

Movement: Baby is a lot more active, and it a little too active near my bladder lol.

Food cravings: Still loving the fresh fruit, apples are the best!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Don’t ask me why, because I LOVE Mexican food, but for some reason if I see or hear a Taco Bell commercial I could almost puke on queue. I have not ate there forever, but the thought of Taco Bell makes me nauseous.

Miss anything: Nope

Belly button in or out: In

Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity pants, and a little of both when it comes to shirts.

Wedding ring on or off: Off, since I was so sick I have lost a bit of weight, which means the wedding ring is now too big. Bummer, but Im sure it will fit again soon!

Labor signs: Nope

Strangest Moment of the Week: Early last week I felt baby kick like a real hard kick for the first time, and it immediately made me puke. I think it scared me more than anything as I wasn’t expecting it, but man that was too funny!

Fun moment this past week: Got to see baby again this week, so neat. The last time we got to see it I was only10 weeks along, so it looked like a teddy graham at that point. So cool to be able to see specific things and to see it move around quite a bit in there!!! The tech was super sweet and made the whole experience great! She finally got a view to tell if baby is pink or blue after baby was being a little stubborn and not wanting to cooperate. (Like father like…) Just kidding! We took the sealed envelope to the our cake lady, which was the hardest thing I’ve had to do yet. So only hours now until we find out…so excited!!! Baby looked good and measured right on track.

What I am looking forward to this week: Of course the Gender Reveal Party this weekend!!! So ready to know pink or blue and begin shopping!!! I will do a separate post on that with pictures of the fun party we have planned! We also have a 60th Anniversary open house this weekend for Kyle’s grandparents. Such a neat thing and so very happy for them, it will be nice to celebrate them! And then excited for another baby appointment next week so cant wait to hear that heartbeat again!!!

Baby J

10 toes!!!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the big Gender Reveal!!!!! Jessica

Baby Janecek: 18 Week Pregnancy Update

Baby update time!!! Not a whole lot to report on other than baby with us lately. Kyle has been busy making hay still. I am so ready for fall, cooler weather and my husband home more!!! The rest of August is shaping up to be pretty busy for us, so I thought Id update now and hopefully give another update towards the end of the month/early September. Hope all is well with everyone and everyone is enjoying their summer!

Baby bump and I before heading out to a bridal shower a couple of weeks ago :)

18 weeks :)
How Far Along: 18 weeks

Gender: Wont know for a few more weeks :)

Baby is the size of: A sweet potato

Symptoms: Nausea is doing much better, only have a bad day here and there, sure beats everyday!!! However, I have been quite tired; I could sleep ALL DAY EVERYDAY if I let myself!

Sleep: Cant seem to get enough!!

Movement: Started to feel a little in the past week or so, I think it feels like popcorn popping in there! Such a neat experience! Now I’m ready to really feel it and share it with Ky!

Food cravings: Apples all day long! Really any fresh fruit is my friend these days!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Don’t ask me why, because I LOVE Mexican food, but for some reason if I see or hear a Taco Bell commercial I could almost puke on queue. I have not ate there forever, but the thought of Taco Bell makes me nauseous.

Miss anything: Not really, I’ve finally started to adjust to being pregnant.

Strangest Moment of the Week: Waking up and feeling like my belly is just growing over night! Ky jokes with me and says, “You’re not pregnant, you’re just full.” Well he has finally decided that fullness is definitely baby, its so funny to watch him react to my growing belly. If you know Kyle very well you know he has a hard time hiding his reactions and it’s so funny!

Fun moment this past week: Got to hear the heartbeat again this week! And my weight stayed pretty good at only down 1 lb. since last appt. so that was nice to know that Im on track to feeling better! My doctor even said she thinks I will be one of the lucky ones who only gains 10-15 lbs. with this pregnancy judging on how Ive been doing so fingers crossed thats true, that would be amazing!!! Since the last post we have purchased the paint for the nursery, which got painted this last weekend!!! Thanks much to my mother-in-law Jane for the help.  The nursery has tall ceilings and is quite large so it was quite a bit of painting!  We also bought two dressers for the nursery. One tall one and one longer short one we will use as a changing table. Other than that we have just bought a few gender neutral outfits and some accessories for the room!
View one side of the room (I didnt want to take a picture of the other side because its too bare yet for my liking).  I love the way the paint turned out!!!

Close up of the changing table dresser.  So neat we picked these up at Backyard Candle Company.  A little TLC and some new knobs will do this dresser a world of good!! So neat!

Also a Backyard find, in need of some knobs but thats nothing Hobby Lobby cant handle.  I absolutely ADORE this dresser, such a fun color for a nursery!

Saw this while shopping for some more maternity pants a couple of weeks ago, was just too cute to pass up! My mother-in-law is so excited for this baby I just couldnt resist!

What I am looking forward to this week: Getting the nursery put togethor, I am ready to start decorating!  If you know me, you know I love a decorated home so it is killing me to have bare walls in there!!!
I am also excited to start getting things ready for our gender reveal party, I will definitely do a post on that, so if you don’t hear from me until then expect a gender reveal post in the next few weeks!!!

Thats it for the baby update, but thought Id sneak in some pics of our recent Rutledge trip finds.  I think Kyle may have opened a can of worms taking me there, that is a antique lovers paradise :)

I found this welcome sign in this neat teal color I have been loving made from an old dresser drawer, so neat!

An old jug of some sort, fits in with my other random old things...had to have it!

This was my highlight of the day, this old phone so neat!!!! I bartered with the man selling it for a while until I finally got it for a price I could handle.  Cant wait for this baby to go up on my wall!
Thanks for reading, Jessica.

Baby Janecek: 14 Week Pregnancy Update

Hello all- I have decided to get back into blogging!! With baby on the way and everyone wanting updates I just felt like this would be a great way to share with friends and family and a neat way to document for myself how everything is going! I also do a daily journal called Dear Baby, where I am journaling to my sweet baby everyday. I think it will be fun for me to look back on someday and I cannot wait to share it with he or she when they are older!

I was hoping to have started this a couple of weeks ago, but quite honestly up until the past week it has been all I could do to just go to work and do my normal house stuff. I have been so dead tired and absolutely sick as a dog!!! At about 6 weeks the nausea set in and I have had morning sickness, actually more like all day sickness, for over 7 weeks. There were days I was lucky to keep one meal down! Luckily once the second trimester hit things have finally started to turn a corner and I am finally keeping food down and feeling a little more like my old self.

For any of you that dont know Kyle and I are expecting our first baby, and baby Janecek is due January 2014!! We found out shortly before Mother's Day which was wonderful and such a great time to get to share it with our parents! But from that weekend until we finally decided to share it with the world was the longest 6 weeks of my life! It was super hard for the grandparents-to-be as well, they were all so excited and you could just see it beaming off of their faces! Besides the morning sickness and nausea everything has gone pretty smooth so far, so we just pray it continues that way.

Kyle is thrilled and tells everyone we talk to how excited he is and how fun it will be to be a dad. I am so lucky to have a great husband who will be such an amazing dad. He has been so supportive of me when Ive been sick and has been great about picking up on the cooking lately! I love watching his face light up anytime anyone brings up him becoming a dad, he will be one proud papa!

I have found this little survey on some mommy blogs and will try and update every few weeks or so on our progress and our journey to becoming parents!

How Far Along:  Almost 14 weeks

Gender:  Wont know for a few more weeks :)

Baby is the size of:  A lemon

Symptoms:  The nausea has started to subside and I havent thrown up in a week, however I am still quite tired.

Sleep:  Cant seem to get enough. I could sleep all day long if I had the time.

Movement:  No movement felt yet, however at my appointment last week the doctor said he could hear an active baby in there!

Food cravings:  Green olives

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Most everything, especially meat.

Miss anything:  I miss wanting to plan meals, and Im sure Kyle has missed me planning meals too!!!

Belly button in or out:  In

Maternity Clothes:  Over the past week or so I have really noticed my pants getting tighter at the waistline, finally invested in some maternity :)

Wedding ring on or off:  Off, since I have been so sick I have lost a bit of weight, which means the wedding ring is now too big. Bummer, but Im sure it will fit again soon!

Labor signs:  Nope

Strangest Moment of the Week:  I had an OB appointment this week, and for now I have to rotate between the two doctors at the clinic we go to, and this week was the first time I had ever been seen by a male OBGYN. I was nervous but it went great and he was AWESOME!!! Now I feel comfortable no matter who is on call the day baby comes!

Fun moment this past week:  Got to hear the heartbeat again this week, I will never get sick of that! And lucky for me there was also a student doing rounds with the doctor so I got to hear it twice! Kyle and I also went crib shopping last weekend, which was super fun! Now we just have to decide, lol! There are so many options out there! And I have finally had to go to some maternity clothes! I went shopping with one of my girlfriends this weekend and got some cute maternity things, suprisingly! Also picked up a few things for the nursery!!!

What I am looking forward to this week:  I am looking foward to feeling better, a few weeks ago I felt like I was never going to get better! So if I can keep my food down and get my energy back I would be one happy camper, and so would my doctors! Never thought Id hear a doctor tell me they'd like me to gain some weight before they saw me next, but all of the puking has really taken a toll on my weight!!! I am also excited to start shopping, alot of things I will wait to buy until we know pink or blue, but now that I've hit 2nd trimester I have the urge to start buying!!!

Thanks for reading, and please keep us in your prayers for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby!
